Bareilly, Dec 23 (UNI) Four members of a child trafficking gang were arrested and three children who had been abducted from Izzatnagar here were recovered from their possession in Delhi, according to reports on Friday.

According to superintendent of police (city) Rohit Singh Sajwan, Pirbahoda resident Moin Khan had lodged a complaint two days ago alleging that his maternal cousin, Shahadat from Badaun district, had kidnapped his three children, eight-year-old Rahiman, four-year-old Zoya and four-month-old Muksim.

Sajwan stated that Shahadat had taken the children out on the pretext of buying sweets, but caught a bus to Delhi, where he handed over the children to a woman, identified as Rukhsana, who lived in Chandan Park locality of Aman Vihar. Rukhsana later took the children to a slum colony in Anupam Nagar for negotiating a price with a child trafficker Nikki for the four-month-old infant.

The price for Muksim was stated to be Rs200,000.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Izzatnagar reached the spot, rescued the three children and arrested Nikki, his mother Simanta Devi, Rukhsana and Shahadat.

The children and the four accused were taken to Bareilly. During interrogation, the accused told the police that after selling the infant, negotiations with clients were on for selling the other two children in two-three days.
